This 40-track fake album sounds like it was more known for its ambitious fake packaging than it was for its music. But any album, fake or otherwise, that has this many discs (10 CDs for some reason? whoa) is going to have to have ambitious packaging, would you not agree? (Although a three-foot statue of a destitute Native American with CD holders at various joints and body holes is pretty extravagant by any standards.) Most of the songs are basically pop songs with long ambient passages hooking them together, a fake trend that's getting pretty old if you ask me. A minor fake viral internet hit was scored with the fake video for "Doe Fucker Mentality."
Fake Pitchfork rating: 4.0
LISTEN UP: This album and these tracks doesn't exist yet. But it could. It has an album title, song titles, an album cover and basically a general concept/feel already in place. It just needs a benefactor. By purchasing the album, you will set the wheels in motion; you will be immortalized as this record's Executive Producer and get your name (and/or links to promote your own work/stuff/something) on its album page at
www.MyAmeri.ca for eternity. More theoretical albums listed here »
